Patient follow-up automation for clinics and hospitals
Care does not end when the patient walks out. Doctors ask for a review in two weeks, a repeat test after a month or a dressing change in three days. Whether those things happen often depends on a nurse remembering to call. Finaley AI Studio reads the follow-up instructions your clinicians have already written, reaches each patient at the right time and passes every clinical question back to your team.
Follow-up instructions rarely turn into follow-up actions
Instructions sit in discharge summaries, OPD prescriptions and handwritten notes. Nursing staff keep separate lists, call when they can and record the result in a register nobody else sees. Patients forget review dates, skip repeat tests or stop medicines early, and the clinic only learns of it when they return unwell. Chronic care programmes for diabetes, cardiac or antenatal patients suffer most, because they depend on many small touches over months.
How the automation runs
- 1
Read the care plan
AI agentThe agent extracts review dates, repeat investigations and named instructions from discharge summaries and prescriptions in your EMR or scanned files.
- 2
Create a follow-up schedule
AI agentEach patient gets a schedule of calls, messages and visits based on the doctor's instructions and your clinic's protocols for that condition.
- 3
Reach the patient
AI agentAt each point it sends a reminder or places a scripted call in the patient's language, asking simple questions your clinicians have approved.
- 4
Clinician reviews responses
Professional checkAny reply describing symptoms, side effects or worry is sent to a nurse or doctor, who decides on advice or an earlier visit.
- 5
Book reviews and tests
AI agentReview consultations and repeat lab tests are booked into the right doctor's session or the collection schedule, with confirmations sent.
- 6
Record and close the loop
AI agentEach contact and outcome is written back to the patient record, and patients who cannot be reached after several attempts are listed for staff.
Built around your EMR and phone lines
The automation reads from and writes to the EMR or hospital system you use, and contacts patients by SMS, WhatsApp or voice calls from your clinic's own numbers. If your notes are still on paper, scanned summaries can be read too. Your protocols, approved scripts and staff rotas remain under your control.
A clinician answers every clinical question
The automation only reminds, asks approved questions and books visits. It never interprets symptoms, changes medication or gives medical advice. Any answer outside the expected range goes to a clinician from your team, and their response is recorded against the patient.
What you get
- Review visits booked as the doctor instructed
- Patients reminded about repeat tests and medicines
- Symptom reports reaching a clinician quickly
- A complete follow-up history in each patient record
Questions
Which patients is this most useful for?
Patients after surgery or admission, people on long-term treatment for diabetes, hypertension or heart conditions, antenatal patients and anyone with scheduled repeat tests. We start with the groups where missed follow-ups cause the most trouble for your clinic and add others later.
Who writes the questions patients are asked?
Your clinicians do. We turn your existing follow-up routine into short scripts, and a doctor approves each one before use. The automation asks only those approved questions and records the answers, so nothing clinical is invented along the way.
What if a patient reports a serious symptom?
The conversation is flagged immediately and passed to the nurse or doctor on duty, following the escalation path you define. The automation itself does not offer medical advice. It can tell the patient that a clinician will contact them or point them to your emergency number.
Can it call patients in regional languages?
Yes. Reminders and scripted calls can be in English, Hindi and other major Indian languages, depending on each patient's preference recorded at registration. Clinicians review the scripts in each language before they are used.
Will our staff have less control?
No. Staff decide which protocols apply, approve scripts and handle every escalation. They also see a record of every contact attempt and response, which usually gives them a clearer picture than the separate call registers kept today.
