AI accounts receivable assistant in Tally

Sales are booked in Tally, but cash only arrives when someone follows up. In many businesses that job falls to an accounts executive who also handles everything else, so reminders go out late or not at all. Finaley AI Studio builds an assistant that takes over collections work from your Tally data. It tracks what each customer owes, sends reminders, confirms balances and keeps the receivables picture current.

Money owed to you, sitting in the outstanding report

Tally shows which bills are overdue, but turning that list into action takes time. Someone has to export the report, work out who to call first, write each reminder with the right bill numbers and record the promise to pay. Balance confirmations at year-end mean hundreds of emails and replies to match. When this slips, customers stretch their credit, disputes surface months late and cash flow becomes hard to predict.

How the automation runs

  1. 1

    Read outstanding bills daily

    AI agent

The agent pulls each customer's open bills, due dates and credit terms from Tally's bill-wise details every morning, without changing any entries.

  2. 2

    Send graded payment reminders

    AI agent

Customers receive email or WhatsApp reminders listing the exact bills due, with gentle notes before the due date and firmer ones once overdue.

  3. 3

    Log replies and promises

    AI agent

When a customer replies with a payment date, a query or a dispute, the agent records it against the account and schedules the next follow-up.

  4. 4

    Request ledger confirmations

    AI agent

At period end it sends each customer a ledger extract from Tally, asks them to confirm the balance, and lists any differences they report.

  5. 5

    Accountant reviews disputes

    Professional check

Disputed balances, write-off requests and customers past your credit limit go to a chartered accountant or your finance approver, who decides the next step.

  6. 6

    Prepare the ageing report

    AI agent

It builds a weekly ageing summary by customer and bucket, with notes on promises and disputes, and emails it to your finance lead.

Reads your Tally data as it stands

The assistant works with your existing TallyPrime company, ledgers and bill-wise references, reading through the XML interface where it is enabled or through the screens where it is not. It does not post vouchers. Invoice entry is a separate automation; this assistant focuses only on collecting what is already billed and keeping customer balances agreed.

Sensitive calls go to a professional

The assistant never changes a balance, grants extra credit or agrees to a settlement. Disputes, requests for discounts and accounts you mark as sensitive are routed to a chartered accountant from the Finaley network or your own approver. Every reminder, reply and confirmation is recorded, so you can see the full collection history of any customer.

What you get

  • Reminders sent on time for every open bill
  • Customer promises and disputes recorded in one place
  • Balance confirmations collected without manual emailing
  • A current ageing view each week

Questions

Is this the same as invoice processing in Tally?

No. Invoice processing enters purchase bills into your books. This assistant works on the other side, reading what customers owe from Tally, following up for payment, collecting balance confirmations and reporting ageing. It does not post vouchers or change your accounts.

Can reminders match our tone with key customers?

Yes. You approve the wording for each stage and can set a softer approach for important accounts or skip automatic reminders for some customers entirely. Those accounts can be listed for your team to call personally, with the outstanding details ready to hand.

How are payments that arrive recorded?

Receipts are still posted by your accounts team or your existing process. Once a receipt is in Tally, the assistant sees the bill is settled and stops reminding that customer. If a customer says they have paid but nothing appears, it flags the case for review.

What happens when a customer disputes a bill?

The assistant stops reminders for that bill, records the customer's reason and sends the case to your approver or a chartered accountant with the relevant ledger extract. Follow-ups resume only after someone decides how the dispute should be handled.

How do we get started?

Show us how your team follows up on payments today, through a screen recording or a short call, and share a few past reminders. We test the assistant on your recent receivables, and it starts sending only after the results match how your team would act.
