KYC verification automation for NBFCs
Every loan file starts with knowing who the borrower is. For most NBFCs that still means an operations executive downloading Aadhaar offline XML, checking PAN, searching CKYC and squinting at a selfie. Finaley AI Studio runs those checks the way your KYC policy describes them, inside the systems your team already uses, and passes anything that does not line up to a person who signs off before the file moves on.
Manual KYC slows disbursal and invites errors
Applications arrive from DSAs, branches and the app with documents in every quality. Names differ by an initial between PAN and Aadhaar. Addresses on utility bills do not match the current residence. CKYC records exist for some customers and not others. Executives repeat the same lookups all day, and the small mismatches they miss come back later during audit or when a customer cannot be traced.
How the automation runs
- 1
Collect the borrower's documents
AI agentPAN, Aadhaar offline e-KYC XML or masked Aadhaar, photograph and address proof are gathered from the application, the DSA upload or a customer link.
- 2
Verify PAN and search CKYC
AI agentIt runs PAN verification and, where your institution has access, searches the CKYC registry and downloads the existing record.
- 3
Compare names, dates and photos
AI agentName, date of birth and address are matched across every document, and the face on the ID is compared with the live photograph.
- 4
Verify the address in person
Field verifierWhere your policy requires it, a KYC-verified field verifier from the Finaley network visits the residence or business address and uploads geotagged evidence.
- 5
Compliance review of exceptions
Professional checkMismatches, missing records and any risk flags go to your KYC officer, who accepts, rejects or requests more documents.
- 6
Update the loan file
AI agentVerified results, source documents and the reviewer's note are saved to your LOS against the application.
Runs inside your LOS and verification portals
Finaley works in the loan origination system you already run, whether built in-house or bought, and in the verification portals and vendor APIs you already subscribe to. It does not add a new KYC provider or change your data flows. Where a system has no API, the automation uses the screens just as an executive would.
Your KYC officer remains the decision-maker
The automation finds and compares; it does not approve customers. Every rule in your KYC policy, such as which documents are acceptable or when a field visit is needed, is configured from your own SOP. Exceptions stop and wait for your compliance team, and each step is recorded for audit.
What you get
- Routine KYC checks finished before an executive opens the file
- Name and address mismatches surfaced consistently
- A complete evidence trail for each borrower
- Field visits booked only where policy calls for them
Questions
Does it replace our KYC vendor or registry access?
No. Finaley uses the services you already have, such as your PAN verification API, CKYC access or video KYC provider. It operates them in the order your SOP sets out, so you keep your existing contracts and data arrangements.
How are Aadhaar details handled?
The automation works with the Aadhaar formats your policy allows, typically offline e-KYC XML or masked copies, and follows your rules for what is stored. Full Aadhaar numbers are not kept unless your own process already permits it, and access is limited to people you approve.
Can it decide whether to onboard a customer?
No. Onboarding is a judgement your compliance or credit team makes. The automation prepares the evidence, highlights every mismatch and suggests nothing beyond what your SOP states. A named person accepts or rejects each case that needs a decision.
What does the field verifier actually do?
They visit the stated address, confirm the borrower lives or works there, check nearby landmarks and upload geotagged photos. Each verifier from the Finaley network has completed KYC. Their report is attached to the application for your team to review.
How do we start?
Send a screen recording of an executive completing KYC on a few files, along with your KYC SOP. We build the automation on those steps, run it on past applications until the results match your team's, then turn it on for live files.
