Document verification automation for insurers and TPAs

Insurance runs on documents. Proposal forms, KYC papers, medical reports, vehicle registration certificates, hospital bills and survey reports all have to be read and cross-checked before a policy is issued or a claim moves forward. Finaley AI Studio does that checking the way your operations team does it today, inside your systems, arranges physical verification where a paper alone is not enough and sends every judgement call to the right person.

Checking documents is slow, and mistakes are expensive

Operations staff open each file, compare names, dates of birth, addresses and numbers across several documents, and judge whether a scan is legible. Mismatches between a proposal form and a medical report, or between an RC and a repair estimate, are easy to miss under volume. Incomplete files bounce between teams. Underwriters and claims handlers then spend time on clerical checks, and genuine inconsistencies that deserve investigation are found late, if at all.

How the automation runs

  1. 1

    Classify incoming documents

    AI agent

The agent sorts uploads and email attachments into types such as ID proof, proposal form, medical report, RC or invoice, and links them to the case.

  2. 2

    Check completeness

    AI agent

It compares what has arrived with the checklist for that product or claim type and requests anything missing from the customer or intermediary.

  3. 3

    Cross-check the details

    AI agent

Names, dates, policy and registration numbers, addresses and amounts are compared across documents and with your records, and every mismatch is listed.

  4. 4

    Confirm in person where needed

    Field verifier

For addresses, premises or assets that need a physical check, a KYC-verified field verifier from the Finaley network visits and records photos and findings.

  5. 5

    Underwriter or handler reviews

    Professional check

The file, with mismatches and field findings highlighted, goes to your underwriter, claims handler or KYC officer, who decides how to proceed.

  6. 6

    Record the result

    AI agent

The outcome, reviewer and supporting evidence are stored against the proposal or claim so the verification trail is complete for audit.

Fits your existing intake and case systems

Documents can come from your customer portal, email, broker uploads or a document management system. Finaley reads them there and writes results into your policy administration or claims system, through an API where one exists or through the screens your staff use. Checklists and rules come from your own manuals.

Verification informs decisions; it does not make them

The automation reports what it found. Whether a proposal is accepted, a claim proceeds or a case goes to investigation is decided by your underwriters, claims handlers or KYC officers. Unreadable or suspicious documents are always passed to a person rather than marked as verified.

What you get

  • Complete document sets before review begins
  • Mismatches across documents listed for every file
  • Physical checks arranged where a scan is not enough
  • An audit trail of who verified what

Questions

Which documents can it verify?

Identity and address proofs, proposal and claim forms, medical and diagnostic reports, vehicle registration certificates, driving licences, hospital bills, repair estimates and survey reports, among others. We configure the checklist and rules for each product and claim type with your operations team.

Does it decide whether a document is genuine?

No. It checks completeness, legibility and consistency across documents and with your records, and lists anything that looks wrong. Whether a document is acceptable, or whether a case needs investigation, is decided by your underwriters, claims handlers or KYC officers.

When is a field verifier used?

Only where your process calls for a physical check, such as confirming a residential address, a business premises or the condition of an insured asset. A KYC-verified field verifier from the Finaley network visits, records photos and notes, and the findings are attached to the file.

Can it work with scanned and photographed documents?

Yes. It reads scans and phone photos, including documents in regional languages. When a field cannot be read with confidence, it asks the customer for a clearer copy or sends the document to a person, rather than filling in a value.

How do we start?

Show us how your team verifies a typical proposal or claim file, through a recording, SOP or call. We build the checks, run them on past files until results match your team's decisions, and then switch them on for new cases.
